President
Laura Lorenzo, PMP

Laura Lorenzo is a results-driven Project Management Professional with over 25 years of well-rounded relationship management experience. She is an accomplished leader with expertise in project management, organizational management, team building, staff motivation and conflict resolution.

She is a big-picture thinker with a proven ability to combine strategic thinking, problem resolution and seasoned judgment with a visionary spirit. Laura previously served in the roles of PMI-SVC Vice President Relationship and Marketing, Director of Education, Director of Events Management, and Director of Seminars. Since joining PMI in 2005, she has demonstrated her capability to effectively convey her visionary spirit to gain the board and membership buy-in necessary for a winning tactical delivery.

Laura lives in the Placerville hills and is the proud mother of five children.


Vice President of Strategy & Policy
Mark Morgan, PMP

Mark Morgan is a consultant, coach and master facilitator that specializes in leadership development, strategic execution and organizational transformation.   He is the lead author of the best selling book “Executing Your Strategy”  published in 2008 from Harvard Business School Press. He is the former Chief Learning Officer of IPSolutions, Inc.  and Practice Director of Stanford Advanced Project Management (SAPM). .  In addition, Mark regularly provides cutting-edge insights and solutions to global audiences as a regular presenter at the Stanford University, international conferences and corporate executive sessions. He develops and delivers custom solutions and consulting at the most senior level of some of the world’s most respected companies. Mark’s experience in converting strategy into action stems from 30 years of experience, including a 13-year career with IBM, 7 years as an independent consultant delivering leadership solutions, executing 2 business startups and 10 years as a consulting educator in the field of strategic execution.  Mark has worked in companies such as Cisco, Boeing, IBM, American Power Conversion, Barclays, Hewlett Packard and has delivered value for individuals, teams executives and to the board of directors level. 

Mark has an MBA from Golden Gate University and a BS In Engineering Technology from California Polytechnic State University. He is PMP® Certified and a Stanford Certified
Project Manager (SCPM).


Vice President of Professional Development (PD)
Phil Bristol, PMP

Phil is a Principal at Projectivity Solutions and lead business coach for TAB Sacramento CA.  He has over 25 years of business experience with a focus on strategic planning, business process improvement, and enterprise-wide project management.  Phil's broad work experience, education and academic positions give him a balanced perspective for practical business solutions. Phil has produced significant bottom-line results for Fortune 500 companies such as Sun Microsystems, Apple Computers, Syntex Pharmaceuticals, Varian Associates, McGraw-Hill, Eddie Bauer, and Applied Materials; as well as start-up companies like NOAH Software and FiberStar.
 
His undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, graduate degree from University of Northern Colorado and post-masters courses from University of Southern California are combined with his academic postings with Florida Institute of Technology, San Jose State, and St. Mary's College.  Phil has taught leadership, project management, and strategic planning at the graduate and under-graduate levels. He is a certified management consultant, certified project manager, founding member of the Silicon Valley Project Management chapter, certified professional behavioral analyst, certified professional values analyst, and member of the Institute of Management Consultants.
 

Secretary
Rebecca Beach, PMP

Rebecca Beach has been a PMP since 2005 and received her recertification in 2008 with a focus on Quality Assurance.  She has worked for Hewlett Packard since 1996 and currently manages a team of Quality Analysts who attach to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) projects within the Information Technology organization.  Prior to this management role, she was a long-time project manager on global projects within the HP Medical Products Group, Human Resources, and Information Technology organizations.
 
Rebecca joined the PMI - Sacramento Valley Chapter in 2009 and looks forward to getting more involved with the Sacramento project management community.  She strongly supports the foundation of project management as a way of improving individual and organizational growth in accomplishing objectives and achieving results. 
 
Rebecca lives in the Sacramento area and is the proud mother of two young children.


Vice President of Operations
Shash Roy, PMP

Shash Roy is a certified PMP and has over 20 years of work experience in the area of Project Management, Change Management and Quality Management. She is a certified ISO 9000 auditor and is a SEI-CMM level 4 Assessor. She has been associated with PMI-SVC for the past 5 years and her interest and passion in PMI activities has helped her perform in diverse roles within the chapter. She has had the honor of being an active member in the inception of the NorCal Symposium which was held first in Sacramento in 2006. Ever since then, Shash has been actively involved with the NorCal Symposium for the past 3 years.

She holds a Masters degree in Mathematical Statistics and enjoys working with metrics and data. She is located in Folsom and is the mother of a UC Davis undergraduate.

 


Vice President of Relations & Marketing
Corinna Martinez, PMP

Corinna Martinez, long-time dinner meeting attendee and supporter of PMI-SVC and the various forums, resumes the role of VP Marketing and Outreach.
She is a program/project manager and internal consultant with over 20 years experience delivering information system solutions. Specifically this includes strong skills in project planning and management, enterprise architecture planning, information management, project development methodologies and information technology maintenance and support.
 
Her current role at the California Department of Fish and Game includes managing a large, highly critical and visible automated licensing system with team members located in four different states. Corinna is also creating a PMO and incorporating project management practices for the department.
 
Her diverse business and technical background allows interpretation and communication of complex issues for understanding by various technical and business audiences. A speaker at national conferences and former instructor, Corinna is familiar with instructional development and delivery methods.
 
Corinna finally obtained her PMP certification five years ago after over-studying through two versions of the PMBOK.
Corinna is repeating the process with the CISSP certification and she is also a Board member of the local Information Security Systems Association (ISSA) chapter.
 


Chief Financial Officer
Jan Cloete

Jan (Hennie) H. Cloete is president of ASSETS, a full service information technology company.
Born on June 19, 1959, Hennie grew up in South Africa where he attended elementary school at the private Broadlands College and high school at the Afrikaans Hoer Seunskool, a highly respected high school in southern Africa.  At high school, Hennie was chairman of the science club for 2 years and was one of the few chosen to have computer studies as an additional subject at the Pretoria Educational College.

After high school (1977), Hennie was drafted into the navy where he became a midshipman and at the Naval College he was presented with the trophy for Best Seamanship.  As an operational operation rooms officer he continued using his computer skills to develop message encryption routines and search and rescue programs.

Upon completion of his compulsory Navy training he was asked to join Infoplan who is the preferred vendor for the South African Defense Force.  Here Hennie excelled and was asked to join a new company, Data Trust that was formed from the ex managers of IBM and Infoplan. Hennie was the 5th employee and the company grew to exceed 2000 employees.

Hennie has worked on multi million dollar projects and has in excess of 30 years of Information Technology experience.

Hennie’s two major passions are computers and the sea. Last year, he single handed his sailing yacht to most of the islands in the Caribbean, down to Venezuela and on January 2, 2007, he passed through the Panama Canal on his way back to California.

He is also a director of the River City Beemers, a BMW motorcycle club.
